Who are Scewo BRO and Scewo GO suitable for?
Our electric wheelchairs are generally suitable for anyone who is cognitively and physically able to safely operate and control an electric wheelchair by hand.
Scewo BRO and Scewo GO are designed for different needs and everyday situations. Scewo BRO is suitable for a maximum user weight of 120 kg, while Scewo GO supports up to 136 kg. How can I customize a Scewo wheelchair to my needs?
Our electric wheelchairs offer a wide range of electronic and manual adjustment options. You can find the most important ones here:
- The control console can be mounted on either the left or right side, and a variety of different joystick attachments can be fitted. Alternative control systems such as mouth or eye controls are not currently available.
- The backrest and seat cushions can be selected according to individual needs.
- Scewo BRO: The maximum cushion width is 460 mm. The seat depth ranges from 385 to 465 mm.
- Scewo GO: The maximum cushion width is 500 mm and can be adjusted in three positions. The seat depth ranges from 400 to 550 mm.
- The angle of the leg supports can be adjusted electronically.
- Scewo BRO: The length can be adjusted from 320 to 420 mm.
- Scewo GO: The length can be adjusted from 320 to 465 mm. GO also features automatic length compensation.

What should I keep in mind when transporting a Scewo wheelchair?
Thanks to their fold-down backrests, our electric wheelchairs can easily be transported as luggage in the trunk of a car. Use our guide “Does BRO fit in my car?” to find out whether your trunk is large enough. Our wheelchairs can also be used as passenger seats in a vehicle. For this purpose, BRO and GO are equipped with crash-tested tie-down points.
Our electric wheelchairs are also approved for transport by plane and on public transportation. Read the customer stories from our BRO users to learn what you should keep in mind.
Does BRO or GO suit my environment?
Thanks to their different modes, BRO and GO can (almost) always find a way to get you where you want to go. However, there are a few obstacles they unfortunately cannot overcome:
- Stairs: Straight staircases and stairs with intermediate landings are no problem. However, spiral staircases or curved stairs cannot be used with either model.
- Doors: BRO is just under 700 mm wide, while GO is 682 mm wide. If your doorway is narrower than the respective wheelchair, you unfortunately won’t be able to pass through it.
- Thresholds: Steps of up to 20 cm can be overcome without difficulty. However, with freestanding thresholds, BRO or GO may reach its limits.
Ordering process.
How does the ordering process work?
Before ordering your Scewo wheelchair, you should take it for a test drive. Ideally, you should also thoroughly test access to your home or workplace. Sign up for a free test drive and we’ll contact you to arrange an appointment.
During the test drive, we’ll also work with you to find the best way to adapt the wheelchair to your individual needs using our accessories. If you would like to finance your Scewo wheelchair through your health insurance provider or insurer, we’ll also be happy to support you with submitting the application.
Based on this, we’ll prepare a personalized quote for you. Once you confirm it, your wheelchair will go into production.
Where can I buy a Scewo BRO or Scewo GO?
You can order our wheelchairs directly from us or from a certified Scewo Partner. All Scewo partners can advise you on our products, arrange test drives, support you with the paperwork for insurance funding, and provide service in your region. Find your nearest Scewo partner.
I had a test drive and would like to order a BRO or GO. What should I do next?
The best way to proceed is to contact us or a Scewo Partner. Together, we’ll determine which color you would like for your Scewo wheelchair, which accessories you need, and which documents your health insurance provider or insurer may still require.
Based on this information, we’ll prepare a personalized quote for you. Once you’re happy with the quote, we or one of our partners will issue the purchase agreement. After you sign it, your wheelchair will go into production.
I ordered a Scewo wheelchair. What happens next?
First of all, welcome to the Scewo Crew! As soon as the delivery date is confirmed, we’ll let you know as quickly as possible. When your wheelchair is delivered, we or a Scewo Partner will train you on how to use BRO or GO and share helpful tips and tricks so you’re fully prepared for everyday life with your new wheelchair.
There is no Scewo Partner in my country. Can I still buy BRO?
We’re sorry that we don’t currently have an official partner in your region. The good news is that you can still purchase our wheelchairs directly from Scewo.
Customers from countries without an official partner can visit our headquarters in Switzerland, experience BRO during a test drive, receive comprehensive training, and purchase and take it home directly on site.

Can I borrow or rent a Scewo wheelchair?
No. At the moment, it is not yet possible to borrow or rent our wheelchairs. However, we are working on a concept and would be happy to hear from you by phone or email if you are interested.
Financing.
What financing options are available?
BRO and GO are fully equipped electric wheelchairs and each has a German medical aid number. This means they may be funded through a funding provider. Discover all your options on our financing options page.

Wird BRO bzw. GO von meiner Krankenkasse oder Versicherung übernommen?
This varies from country to country and from case to case. However, we have already had positive experiences with both full and partial funding and will be happy to support you with your application.

Do BRO and GO have German medical aid numbers?
Both BRO and GO can officially be reimbursed through health insurance providers and are listed in the German Medical Aids Directory.

Can I deduct the cost of a Scewo wheelchair from my taxes in Switzerland?
According to the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA), all “disability-related costs” that you have paid yourself are tax-deductible.
Delivery.
How does the handover of a Scewo wheelchair work?
As soon as your wheelchair comes off the production line, we or one of our partners will contact you to arrange a handover appointment. The entire delivery process takes around four hours. At the scheduled appointment, we’ll train you on how to use the product and share important tips for everyday use.
I noticed during delivery that I need additional accessories. What should I do?
If you need any additional accessories for your BRO or GO, you can contact your Scewo partner or us at any time. If adjustments to your wheelchair are required, we’ll be happy to arrange an appointment. Otherwise, we’ll send the accessories to you and invoice you accordingly.
Service & Training.
How do service, maintenance, and repairs work?
Just like your car, you can bring your Scewo wheelchair in for service once a year. During the service, we check that all functions are working properly and that everything is up to date. For service, maintenance, and repairs, you can contact your Scewo partner directly or get in touch with us to schedule an appointment.
How can I update the software on my Scewo wheelchair?
