IN A NUTSHELL

The essentials.

Scewo BRO is a self-balancing power wheelchair controlled by a hand joystick without the use of torso stability. Thanks to the two large wheels, it is safe and maneuverable on different surfaces.

Dynamic driving, with the automatic seat tilt, can promote blood circulation and the resulting movements can prevent the development of pressure sores. Pressure points can also be specifically relieved with the seat adjustment. More on seat adjustments is explained in the section «Adaptability».

The ability to hold a conversation at eye level or transfer easily thanks to a low seating position are part of the expanded scope of action provided by the seat lift and ensure social inclusion thanks to equal participation in everyday life.

BRO can be adapted to the needs of the user. The back support and foot support can be adjusted automatically. The head support, arm support and other elements can also be adjusted. In addition, BRO can be supplemented with proprietary or third-party products such as seating systems or controls.

An overview of all the customization options and settings that can be made on BRO can be found here.

BRO is controlled with a hand joystick. To operate this, you need almost no finger strength thanks to the sensitivity settings. In addition, BRO can be supplemented with various joystick attachments from proprietary or third-party products.

The unique remote control allows easy loading into standard passenger cars, and BRO can be customized to the user’s individual needs with various add-on products.

Various functions, such as the stand-up aid or the Relax position, enable more independent therapy (e.g. contracture prophylaxis or stand-up exercises). This leaves more time for the physiotherapist or occupational therapist to pursue other therapeutic goals.

BRO promotes independent participation in everyday life. Functions such as the seat lift or the Stair Mode enable speaking at eye level, negotiating stairs, steps and thresholds, and reaching high or low objects independently.

Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy.

Due to his condition, Felix was no longer able to participate actively in everyday life, nor could he help his wife with daily routines. Since purchasing BRO, the relationship between Felix and his wife has relaxed significantly and Felix’s dependence on her help has decreased considerably. This has had a positive effect on their lives as well as their contentment.

Phil E.

Cerebral palsy.

Being able to independently visit university was crucial for Phil. BRO not only enables him to travel to university on his own, but also offers him the possibility to have discussions at eye level. Furthermore, due to his condition, the electrical adjustment of the footrests and backrest is central, as it allows him to relieve different pressure points.

Dagmar B.

Multiple sclerosis.

Since teacher Dagmar spends a major part of her work day in BRO, sitting comfortably is particularly important. The cushion adapted to her needs as well as the mechanical and electrical adjustment options make BRO a comfortable seat. The swivelling interface, the foldable footrests and the transfer option also enable her to easily transfer to a chair or couch at home.

José F.

Tetraplegia

Due to his condition, José only has little finger strength. The easy control of his wheelchair via joystick and touchpad is therefore the optimal solution for him. BRO meets these criteria and also enables the businessman to go about his everyday life independently.

Michael H.

Muscular dystrophy.

Getting up from bed or a chair is difficult for Michael without outside help. Therefore, he is particularly happy about BRO’s integrated stand-up aid. Furthermore, the remote control allows him to easily load the power wheelchair, so that he can take it with him wherever he goes. This eliminates the need for elaborately planning trips in advance. BRO also enables him to overcome obstacles at work with ease.
