More than 100 BROs are already cruising around the roads of the DACH region. 22 great partners offer test drives and the Scewo Family has grown to 54 Scewonauts. The thought of expanding into other countries is becoming more and more concrete.

On the road to success | Januar 2022

Customers from Switzerland, Germany and Austria have already started their new everyday lives with BRO. We count six medical supply stores among our Scewo partners. And the Scewo Family has quadrupled in size, growing to around 50 employees.

First BRO riders out and about | August 2020

We hid our first two serial-production power wheelchairs – or rather BROs – in oversized gift boxes. They were then unwrapped and taken home by customers who have been supporting us since the student project.

Expansion to Germany and Austria | May 2019

We traveled to a German fair with a big surprise in our luggage: from there on, we were also takingreservations from Germany and Austria.

Start of pre-sales in Switzerland | July 2018

With much fanfare we presented our BRO to the public for the first time. Highlight of the evening: For the first time, we were accepting reservations from Switzerland.

Founding of Scewo AG | September 2017

Bernhard Winter, Pascal Buholzer and Thomas Gemperle made it official: they founded Scewo AG and became young entrepreneurs.

At the starting line of the Cybathlon | August 2016

This is followed by participation in the Cybathlon, a competition in which assistive technologies are measured against each other in terms of everyday ability.

Viral from one day to the next | August 2015

We put a video of the first prototype online, which millions of people watch. Interested people from all over the world were ringing our doorbell at ETH – they wanted to buy Scalevo! Now co-founder Pascal Buholzer joined us. Scalevo became Scewo.

Student project «Scalevo» | August 2014

In a students project from the ETH and ZHdK ten students – including Scewo co-founder Thomas Gemperle – develop a first prototype that is capable of driving within nine months. In order to increase the complexity, the device should be able to transport a person – the idea of the stair-climbing power wheelchair BRO is born.
